ROOTS COLLECTION
This new ceramic collection is inspired by my travels to Oruro, Bolivia — the tin mining city where my late father grew up. Located 12,000 feet above sea level in the Altiplano region near the Andes Mountains, Oruro stirred vivid memories of my dad and offered a window into his childhood.
During World War II, he and my grandparents were forced to leave Germany and begin a new life in Bolivia. My “Roots” Collection pays homage to their resilience and the legacy they built. It also rekindles my early love for sgraffito and carving into clay — allowing me to connect the past to the present through form, texture, and storytelling.
TABLEWARE
My ceramics are wheel thrown with hand built with whimsical adornments inspired by patterns, texture, and colors in the world. From my travels through through Mexico, South America, Southeast Asia, and beyond, each piece blends cultural motifs with modern forms to create functional objects for everyday meals and gatherings with family and friends.
